My Students Progress — Trainer Dashboard for Student Progress in Moodle

Trainers can't support students they don't know are struggling. The My Students Progress block gives every trainer a live dashboard showing every student's progress, grade, and last activity — so at-risk learners are visible before it's too late.

Identifying at-risk students before they drop out requires early warning signals. In a large Moodle course, a student can be 2–3 weeks behind without a trainer noticing — until it's too late to intervene effectively. The My Students Progress block gives every trainer a real-time dashboard showing the progress, grade, last login, and activity completion status of every student in their courses. At-risk students are highlighted automatically, and trainers can send targeted messages directly from the dashboard without switching to another tool.

    Why your RTO needs this

Student retention is both a quality metric and a revenue driver for RTOs. Losing students mid-course wastes enrolment, assessor, and administration costs — and fails the student who needed the qualification. The My Students Progress block makes proactive student support operationally feasible at scale: trainers can see 50 students at a glance, identify the 3 who are falling behind, and reach out before the situation becomes critical. For ASQA, it also demonstrates that your RTO monitors student progress and provides timely support — both Standards requirements.

    Key Features

    At-Risk Highlighting

Students who haven't logged in within a configurable threshold, have falling grades, or are behind on completion are automatically highlighted in red.

    Progress Heatmap

A colour-coded matrix shows every student's completion across every course activity — identifying exactly where progress stalls.

    One-Click Messaging

Send a Moodle message to any student directly from the dashboard — with templated outreach messages for common at-risk scenarios.

    Last Login Tracking

See when each student last logged into Moodle — a simple but powerful early-warning signal for disengagement.

    Multi-Course View

Trainers teaching multiple courses see all their students in one unified dashboard — not one view per course.

    Common Use Cases

    • 1Identifying and contacting students who haven't logged in for more than two weeks before they officially disengage
    • 2Supporting trainers managing large self-paced online cohorts where individual progress monitoring is otherwise impossible
    • 3Meeting ASQA requirements to demonstrate that student progress is monitored and support is provided when needed
    • 4Improving completion rates and retention across Certificate and Diploma online delivery programs
